This needs multimodal approach,it will come under neurodevelpmental disorders .first the level of intellectual deficiency has to be ascertained which will be done through formal assessment which will be done by a team of a psychiatrist,special educator n Psychologist.best is to get that done in a govt hospital.visit child guidance clinic there. Once they have ascertained the lev of deficiency then the individualized remideal program will be made.

Hi.... Please consult a Pediatrician if this a child who has been diagnosed with mental retardation. The treatment consists of special education and behaviour therapy and there are various professionals (psychiatrist, psychologist, speech/occupational therapist, paediatric neurologist, pediatrician, etc.) who can help him/her live life to the fullest. Physical exercise and special education is also useful.
