Respected madam. Rifagut is a antibiotic which contains Refaximine. It acts only in the lumen of intestine and doesn't get absorb from intestine. Usually it's given in conditions when patient is having ammonia toxicity which is produced by bacterias in intestine. In intestine there are colonies of bacteria which we call as a microflora. It is helpful for digestion of food. In gastroenteritis there is infection of bacteria in intestine causing diarrhea. To replace infective bacteria with normal bacteria we give probiotic (darolac) to the patients. Also due to the antibiotics treatment for any other infections there is a disturbance of normal microflora causing loose motions. It is treated with darolac.
