Medical certificate for child adoption
Hi,
We are prospective adoptive parents from Kharadi, Pune and are planning to apply to CARA. It requires us to produce a medical certificate stating that we are not suffering from any chronic illness and that we are fit and healthy to adopt a child.
We have few questions -
1. Who do we approach for it (General physician, gynaecologist etc)?
2. What medical tests would be needed ?

Medical certificate can be issued by any general practitioner provided you've consulted in person.

Regarding tests, it will be prescribed before providing the certificate and depends on your clinical condition and history.
Usually a complete blood test profile including cbc, serology for HIV, HBSAG, HCV , RFT, LFT,LIPID PROFILE, CXR and USG are sufficient but lie at the discretion of the attending physician.
