Medical Abortion.. ID proof???

Is aadhar mandatory for MTP.. I have been asked to submit it. Doc said if we do not submit then they will send a letter on address given at time of treatment.. Is it safe to give aadhar to doc. I dont know why docs are treating us like we have done some crime.
