My nephew is 2 days old he aspire meconium in womb suddenly we shift him into NICU on oxygen he is stable and good movements since birth doctors give oxygen 1 day and now they told he is better now tomorrow we remove oxygen. And his blood reports: Haemoglobin 17.1 gm WBC 9100 cu mm Platelets 1.35 lacks C reactive protein positive 27.3 mg/L Serum CK-MB 156 U/L  (N: 0-25 U/L) Serum sodium potassium are in normal Serum calcium 3.71 mg/dl (N: 4-5.2) . He is stable drinking milk from today. What is next sir how many days to recover him completely please suggest sir we are in trouble. Coz since birth my nephew is not come home. Please suggest His weight 2.6 kg Birth day 25 April 2021 8.30 pm

It is normal meconium aspiration not syndrome he will recover completely in 5 days . CRP needs to be normal while discharge.

Make sure baby having no respiratory distress and baby must be stable in room air without oxygen support. If the baby is on antibiotics let the culture report come and plan antibiotics according to that. I think calcium is low. calcium levels has to corrected . And baby has to tolerate feeds. It may take another few days to settle . Any how the consultant Pediatrician may take a right call on discharge
