It can be treated. Need to control the itching first. Please send photos using online consult option for proper examination diagnosis and treatment advice. Stop scrubing the skin.

friction tends to precipitate and worsen macular amyloidosis. so if you use pumice stone or a lufa when taking bath that has to be avoided. however, in certain cases it also develops spontaneously. Unfortunately, amyloidosis is a very resilient condition and takes a lot of time for improvement and sometimes the improvement may not even be 100% but with right treatment major relief and improvement can be achieved. food does not have any association with it. If you wish to seek treatment for it you need to consult privately with me and send the pictures so I can confirm the diagnosis before recommending the treatment. Hope this is helpful.
