Lymph Nodes

Is it true that lymph nodes in the head and neck are not considered swollen and concerning until over 1cm? I have palpable nodes on my left side in the occipital, parotid and supraclavicular region all under 1cm. I’ve seen an oncologist and ENT who’ve told me that they aren’t concerned for those reasons, my age (24), and my completely lack of other symptoms. They say there are too small to accurately do an FNA (we’ve already tried). They’re doing a CT with contrast in a week. Can I trust them?

Not only size, number, consistency and relevant history is important.

Yes,  you can get a CT SCAN of head and neck and thorax done to identify the cause of enlarged lymph nodes in the neck if there were no foci of infection in the scalp,  face or upper respiratory tract region.
