Yes smoking is the most important cause for lung cancer. X rays at very less doses have diagnostic use and use are detect tumors, whereas at higher doses they can be used to kill cancer cells. In early stages lung cancers can be even removed surgically, whereas in terminal stages they are treated mainly with chemotherapy.

Hi Kuldeep...Lung cancer has a direct association with smoking. Majority of lung cancers are caused due to smoking. Repeated chest xrays causes significant low dose radiation exposure which can cause cancer over a prolonged peruod of time Depending on the stage of lung cancer at the time of detection, it can be treated by surgery followed by chemotherapy and or radiation. It is a multimodality treatment. I hope i have answered your queries. Feel free to ask more in case of further doubts Regards
