Lower left side abdomen discomfort

Yesterday night my father tried washing some clothes after having food.He sat down to wash the same.After that he started feeling a bit uncomfortable on the lower abdomen part,which we thought was due to gas.I have applied iodex on that area.Applied hot water bag as well.The pain has subsided but it's still there on the lower abdomen part,while he touches it pains a bit.Can you suggest something about it

Any swelling? Could be obstructed hernia. One probability Needs clinical evaluation and surgeon consultation
