Loose stools
Good morning doctor garu,
My baby is 4.5 months old he is having loose stools since 3 days...not so runny but he will go to motion almost 7 to 9 times a day...I have done stool tests ...1 reducing substances ,rota virus antigen tests.. stool culture and sensitivity but stool reducing substances are positive.. and others tests are normal I wanted again to consult doctor but my inlaws are not allowing me to take to hospitals...plz need help... what should I do... I have added 15 days before prescription I used those medicines and with in two days motions are reduced .....again from three days he is having loose stool plz help me doctor...
If your child is on breast feeding only, then there is no need to worry. Continue feeding as long as the baby is active and accepting milk. Due to gastrocolic reflex some babies will pass 7-10 stools per day. If no fever no foul smelling of stools then there is no need to use any antibiotics. Continue z&d drops for 14 days and probiotics 3-5 days

If this is the recent test, after the antibiotic course last time, your child will require another antibiotic course and additional gut strengthening medications.
