Loose motion and light fever
My child is 2yrs old and have loose motion and light fever. When I chexked with a doctor in my area. He suspected stomach infection and prescribed ziprax dry syrup 100mg (cefixime 100mg). It is mentioned that this medicine may cause diarrhea.
Can anyone kindly suggest whether i can continue the above medice fornmy chid.

Please continue antibiotics if it has been started.
Have the gut strengthening medication and other supplements also if it has been prescribed.

Keep the child hydrated by giving ors for every lose motion. Give syp zinc 5 ml once a day for 14 days. Also give enterogermina ampoule 1 ampoule twice a day for 3 days. You can give cefixime twice a days for 5 days. Monitor for danger signs like decreased urine output, lethargy or refusal to feed. If these signs are report immediately to pediatrician near you.
