I have a medium sized limp on my back. I noticed it 4 days ago. Initially it was slightly painful but now it pains when I lie on my back or when I touch it. It has hardened as well since I noticed it initially. Should I see a skin specialist or an oncologist?
Hi, a lump that has appearedly recently and is painful, is strongly against the diagnosis of cancer. I think you can show yourself to a general surgeon. If the surgeon is sceptical of the diagnosis which is possibly an infection or sebaceous cyst, he would suggest a biopsy (rarely required). Bye
To me this sounds like a infection (abscess). I would advise you to consult a general surgeon. If the surgeon thinks it's not an abscess, them it has to be further investigated. otherwise it will be treated with antibiotics.
