Light Pian on left side of Chest

Hi Sir, From two years some time I feel very light pain on my left side of chest. It is not a regular pain but it occur once a week. I m a regular smoker from last 5 years. Is this a serious thing which needs to diagnose. Is there is any blockage or heart related problem is starting. What is the test for this in which I can get it clear about this.

Need to consult physician as smoking related lung effects would have started, the kind of pain you explained does not suggest cardiac
