After surgery did she went for physiotherapy treatment because after laminectomy and a discectomy it's the role of physiotherapist to teach back strengthening exercises and also walking cycling and swimming etc as per treatment plan and protocol set by physiotherapist.... Without proper exercises and on bed rest the condition will only worsen... Visit a good physiotherapist and get it treated
