As u said there’s gap.. we need to get the xray done to check the compression,, and disc space.. n consult orthopedician..ur x-ray report will conclude ur surgery.. if there’s no severe pain surgery is not important..as there are many factors to be considered for surgery.!
Next u can start with hot water formantation for back-15mins, apply myolaxin ointment or any pain relief ointment followed by exercises..
visit nearest physio center to learn strengthening exercises for back muscles.. and traction if needed..
daily morning walk 15-20 mins 7:30am sun.. 4-5 lits of water daily..
