My mother is 64yrs and has osteoporosis. knee pain in both legs. She met with an accident 10 yrs back and has rod in left thigh which runs from upper thigh till above the knee. My concerns are 1. Should rod be removed before knee replacement surgery? 2. Dr says both knee replacement. What's the risk? Success rate?
