Lets see, Yes they can. But since there is history of chronic alcoholism so a suspicion of chronic alcoholic liver disease can not be rulled out. Lets keep uric acid apart for a few minutes, we will talk on in later. What happens if there is a chronic liver disease, initially enzymes can rise, but with time when fibrosis develops in liver they come down, its not like they are NORMAL, though they appear to be normal often missed in clinical scenarios. So I wouod request you to get back with your all previous reports and a latest ultrasound of whole abdomen so that I could help you in a better way. As far you uric acid is concerned, let me handle with your liver first, we can easily take care of that later with a pill a day. Take care.
Next Steps
Ultrasound whole abdomen, a fresh LFT, PT INR.
Health Tips
A thorough consultation with reports is desirable with regular follow-up.
