Your periods are a reflection of your ovarian function which is dependent upon good hormone balance in your system. Various factors affect this balance including exercise, mental stress, physical stress, sleep and good nutrition. A defect in any of these over a period of time can cause hormone imbalance. You need to see your gynaecologist for blood tests to evaluate this function. They will find out what needs testing and treating.
