Insomnia problem in sleeping.

I hav problem in sleeping whenever I sleep my brain starts creating thoughts also I get awake in slight sound. So I started using alprazolam. But later I found it as very adictive and difficult withdrawal as my handshake and memory loss...please suggest some remedy as I seen there are other classes in opiates which are safe then alprazolam. Ex restyl, restoril.
