Do any of your family members have the same issue? If yes, then how are they managing? This problem is sometimes seen in families.
Nail bed removal - does not mean removal of entire tissue, rather only that portion is removed from the sides of the toes, so the central nail can regrow. The skin folds at sides then join the remaining nail bed, and recurrence is rare - if properly done.
Ankle block if patient is anxious, else ring block is fine. Stitches are required - so adequate leave from work is a good idea.
Cost will vary by the hospital and the specialist (plastic surgeon/foot surgeon / general surgeon).
