Infected ear piercing

I got my middle ear pierced ( just about the earlobe) about 2 months back. I removed the earrings (silver) about 3 days ago and saw a very small ball-like infection. I applied MUPIBACT for 2 days and put the earrings back as I noticed the piercing closing up. Was I right to do so? Will I have to let the piercing close up and get it redone?

Continue Mupi oint. Avoid putting the earrings back till all of the infection has cleared. You can use alternate earrings once infection has slightly subsided.
