Yes u can pinch the gluteal region muscle for giving IM injection.
Next Steps
yes u can pinch the muscle while giving IM injection. After inserting to the muscle  withdraw some fluid in the syringe to confirm if its not in some blood vessels. Deliver the medicine and no need to massage the injection site.
