Hypothyroid lose weight ?

Recently i did my thyroid blood test.. My tsh was 7.78.. Doctor asked me to take thyroxine dose of 75.. I also lose some 3-4kgs weight due to dis ? Is dis hyper or hypo ? And is the dose correct and should i start taking it? Will it gain my wwight back?
