Sudden activity inflames your muscles and tendons. Some tendons and muscles.take longer to come back to normalcy.
Achilles tendon is notorious for taking a very long time to settle down.
Regularly stretch the tendon and also the calf muscles. Use cold compress 2-3 times a day. Take anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac, as long as you do not have any gastritis/asthma/allergies to those medications.
Avoid sudden increase in activity but make sure you continue to do regular and gentle activity. Avoid any sports.
You have to give it 6-8 weeks with this regime, for it to get better.
Hope this helps.
