How to be safe from indirect rabies
Sir I have rabies ocd (indirect transmission) ,so I have taken 25-35 vaccine last 12 years, In 2023 I have taken full series and in may 2024 2 booster , Now again in a partys i see water drops present in my plastic plate and I eat in this . I thought a dog licked the plate as dogs are barking around the cooking area . So can I take again 2 booster dose or my previous vaccination help for the unknowingly transmission rabies .I recently started taking psychiatric medicine for this ocd .
Please suggest to me how someone can safe if rabies transmission indirectly. Like walking bare foot in temple and dog saliva fall in ground. Can I take booster every year or 2-3 year

Hello, rabies is not transmitted through indirect contact like eating from a plate that might have had water droplets or walking barefoot where a dog might have walked. Rabies spreads only through direct exposure to infected animal saliva via bites, scratches, or contact with open wounds or mucous membranes.
You’ve already taken multiple doses of the vaccine and have recent boosters (2023 full series + 2024 2 boosters). This gives you strong immunity and no further booster is needed for such indirect, theoretical exposures.

Please avoid further rabies vaccines unless advised by your doctor after a real exposure (like a bite).
Continue the psychiatric treatment and counseling, which is the most important part of healing.
