How long does hcg stay after birth

I had a baby 5 weeks ago. I had sex 9 days ago and am still getting positive hcg tests. I had a positive test last week as well before I had sex so Im wondering how long residual hcg stays in your system? The test today is not any lighter than the one last week, maybe a hair darker. I am breastfeeding as well, but have always started my period back within 9 or 10 weeks after birth even with exclusive breastfeeding.
