High tsh level
Iam 10 wks pregnant.Checked my tsh durng 5th wk and it was 3.5.So my physician increased my thyronorm dosage to 50mcg from 37.5mcg.Yesterday i checked my tsh level and it was 3.2.i have read in many articles that the tsh level during 1st trimester should be below 2.5.So is there anything to worry.Should i increase my dosage.
If the TSH is greater than 2.5 at any time during pregnancy, T3/T4 levels should be checked to determine whether the hypothyroidism is overt or subclinical..if T3/T4 are normal... usually it is subclinical hypothyroidism tht doesn't require anything to do usually except regular watch on thyroid level...if T3/T4 are on lower side...you need to increase the dose of ur thyronorm...
Lower T3/T4 level can cause neurological disorders,low birth weight and many more complications in fetus...
