Hi, My brother suffered from chronic illness for almost 20 days...We have got all the required Tests like Blood test (5 times), sonography, Xray etc...Nothing was detected in these tests still body temperature was around 102-103.. Doctors suggested PET Scan ..got that done...Reports showed few Lymph gland particularly under armpit bit enlarged....Doctors suspected TB or Cancer......But Since the time we had this PET scan done....His body temp started to drop and now remains at 95 , 96 , 97......Doctors have discharged him saying that as long as there is no fever , its fine.. We are just concerned because even though there is no fever but still my brother is extremely weak...sometimes even chest pain....so worried ... Please suggest what should be done.

An FNAC from the armpit swelling may help

This appeared to be pyrexia of unknown origin(PUO).....if some significant lymph node found in axilla....why not open biopsy of the nodes be done and sent for histopathological exam with culture and TB PCR done......it can uncover the cause
