High bilirubin
I had gallbladder laparoscopic surgery on 19th september 2025. After that I was having pain on mid rib and bilirubin( total, direct and indirect) and all liver enzymes were increased. Indirect was more than direct. Dr suspected retained stone but on mrcp it was clear and bilirubin started going down and liver enzymes also. Since last one month was taking udbest 300, bilirubin was normal but yesterday repeat test indirect bilirubin is high again. Also I am on strict oil free , less spicy home food diet. Having2-3 litres of water everyday with coconut water, buttermilk. reports are attached.
Please suggest.
There are multiple things which need clarification in your history- whether you had jaundice before surgery, was it a difficult surgery and how long did the surgery last, was an abdominal drain placed and did you have fever or chills associated with the elevated liver enzymes.
This could be very well be a case of a passed out gall stone and you might just need monitoring for the same if your MRCP is clear.
Next Steps
Your MRCP report and films would be helpful.
If you have no symptoms, a repeat LFT after 2 weeks is advisable as the elevation you observed in the latest report could well be part of the decreasing trend in LFT.
Health Tips
Watch out for visible jaundice( yellow eyes, deep urine), itching and change in colour of stools and any fever or chills
