Hiccups when not be sleeping.

My father is 75 years and having sugar nd BP now from 10 days hiccups are started but hiccups won't be there while sleeping before hiccups started cold nd cough was there so we have tusq tab let now cough is not there but hiccups started when he is not sleeping. While sleeping hiccups won't be there. Please suggest me doctor I m waiting for your response.
