I was diagnosed with herpetic whitlow around 7 years back. After having acyclovir my condition got better. Years later I wanted to get myself checked if I have the herpes virus. Both hsv 1 and 2 igg and igm came back as non-reactive. Recently, I am having something similar to whitlow on my index finger. Around 5 days back I got tiny vesicles and now the number has increased. I am confused whether it is a reactivation or do I have the virus. Can there be any possibility of a false negative result? And also, can I get the virus through the whitlow?
