My gynecologist gave me occuvir 400 for 7days but no effect, report was same, then i took homeopathic medicine and it increased from 1.4 to 1.5... I m taking medicines since 1month no effect... Now gynecologist suggesting for skin specialist... So can it get cured with medicine by skin specialist? I don't have any outbreaks on my body. Hi IgM serology was type specific as in positive for hsv1 or hsv 2 or both? It doesn't mean that you have recently aquire herpes infection. It can appear in blood during recurrent herpes also. It usually appears in blood in  7-10 days and disappears in max upto 6 weeks or even earlier. IgG antibody persist for life. It doesn't increase any risk of spontaneous abortion or congenital malformation in baby and risk of transmission to baby during delivery is very less (0-3 per) You can start taking suppressive therapy from 36 weeks onwards to decrease viral shedding . Manage your pregnancy as usual and nothing specific is required as you have already taken acyclovir for 7 days. It's a life long infection and can't be cured.
