Do external hemorrhoids remain swollen all the time or only during bowel movement. Means we can feel them all time at the anus edge or only during bowel movements.

It depends on the many factors like condition of your peri-anal muscle tone, consistency of your stool, grade of the hemorrhoid, etc. Does it bleed massively??
