Heart stent
My father had a heart attack in 2016 Feb, he had a 3 stent planted in aiims delhi in 2016 June. How much is the life of these stents and can heart attack reccur?

Stents remain inside forever. If its a drug eluting stent then chances of re stenosis that is re blocking is 4-6% per year. The chances of re blocking is more in diabetic. If you keep sugars bp in control and follow a healthy lifestyle the risk is minimized

You don't need to worry ,as coronary stents do not have wear and tear and has a good longevity
Regarding recurrence,heart attack do recur,but if u follow life style modifications and continue prescribed drug ,chances of recurrece is less.
