Hearing Loss

I have a hearing loss of 38 db in my left ear and 35 db in my right ear. Left ear has retraction problem, right ear has perforation. Doctor inserted a grommet in left ear. Suggested an open ear surgery probably tympanoplasty for right ear. My questions are 1) The retracted eardrum had negative ear pressure of -288 daPa. Does a grommet solve the retraction problem ? 2) Does tympanoplasty helpful for mild hearing loss ?

You seem to be having chronic eustachian tube dysfunction on left side and chronic otitis media on right side. Grommet or ventilation tube will equalize the pressure and helpful in management of negative pressure in middle ear. Tympanoplasty will definitely improve hearing on right side and is only treatment available for perforation of ear drum
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
