For the past few days I have had a dull and painful throbbing in my right ear. Not long after getting home from school, my hearing in said ear has gone muffled and I can barely hear through it. The throbbing is still there though.

As per your description you might have developed infection or congestion in the ear.. visit an ENT specialist for proper assessment and treatment..
