Having hair fall

Visted a dermatologist . I was told that I'm suffering from MPHL(grade 2) . She advised me some tables along with minoxidile 5% . I'm worried about using minoxidile . As I have heard that once I stop using it , it would worse my hair condition . And minoxidile also has some side effects relating to erectile  dysfunction . Can any one help in clarification
