Hello Doctor, I am 20 years old and experiencing gradual thinning in the frontal scalp/hairline from the past few years. I have used topical minoxidil in the past, but stopped and the gained hair was lost. I want to avoid minoxidil and am considering low-dose finasteride. I would like your guidance on: • Whether finasteride is suitable for me • Oral vs topical finasteride • Safe starting dose I have no known medical conditions. Thank you.

Young man, Finasteride does help - both oral and topical Which to use depends on multiple factors and given your age, will require counselling (if dependent on parents) and medical evaluation before starting oral finasteride.
