Greetings - sudden loos of hair in patches - may be suggestive of a hair condition called alopecia areata. Yes this is an autoimmune condition and needs evaluationa nd treatment by a qualified dermatologist. This can be treated by lotions/intralesional injections. Hope this helps. . Caution: Make sure you see a qualified MD / DNB/ DVD dermatologist for all your skin and hair issues. Don’t be lured in by quacks. Know your treating doctor/ discourage quackery! Warm regards, Dr Govind Suresh Mittal. Bengaluru
