Gerd in baby
My baby is 4 months old boy. He is max bottle feed as I have low milk supply. He have GERD as diagnosed by pediatric. He vomits Continuesly or when ever we feed. Doctor gave 1. Rantac 2. Honyzyme.. It's been 3 days still problem, persists. We did scaning. Every thing is normal. Please help. To stop so. Much vomiting. He is not drinking milk at all.. I am. Worried he will lose weight as is already. Can I make him drink water? Or any semi solid food?? Please help.
Advised to give thickened small frequent feeds.
Try to reduce volume but increase the frequency so that the overall quantity is not compromised.
Nurse in GERD position(45 degree not supine).
Add domstal round the clock.
The problem will resolve gradually
If it persists he may require surgical correction( rarely required) which generally has got good results.
Next Steps
if the problem persist then you require a barium swallow followed by GER scan to grade the problem. in higher grade a surgical evaluation may be required

Advised to give more breastfeeding and less formula feeds.
Sometimes formula feeds increases the GERD.
Advised to continue rantac medicine.
Usually it is not safe to use honey below 1 year of age.
No need to give water.
Baby should be placed in left lateral position with the head end elevated by 30 degrees after feeding.
