Gastric problem

2016-10-01 08:55:34
I am suffering from gastric problems since almost 15 years . I have consulted many doctors but there was no permanent solution for the problem . I am a pure vegetarian and I take less of spices in my daily diet. The doctors whom I have consulted earlier gave me the prescription of various tablets such as omprogil and lanceprogil . But they have worked only temporarily. I am getting frequently burps. I am using famocid tablets for over the last few years. It has given me a better relief and haven't consulted any doctor in the recent Past. Is it better to consult one . If it is so, then please tell me which kind of doctor to consult

Hello there...i understand your concern...try eating several small meals instead of three large ones whenever you can...Avoid foods that irritate your stomach, especially those that are spicy, acidic, fried or fatty... avoid coffee, tea etc... Avoid stress, consider calming activities, such as meditation, yoga etc...sleep with head raised position and have dinner at least 2 hours before sleep..do regular exercises...take pantaprazole 40 mg twice daily before food with above....consult physician if symptoms persists.

Sometimes there won't be any cure .life long medication may be necessary.have endoscopy every 5 years to check for any changes in the gut.in very severe case surgery is an option but there is no guarantee for it.
Next Steps

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  I appreciate Dr. Riar for giving his opinion but all the medications which he has suggested are unnecessary.  No point of taking zerodol-th and also no point of taking etilaam. I would suggest you get yourself checked out by a general surgeon in person. H. Pylori and gastric ulcers should be dealt with. I wouldnt recommend using any mediciations without consulting a general surgeon in person.  Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.
