If there is absolutely no pain or symptoms whatsoever, then only observation and a 6monthly / yearly checkup will be sufficient.
However if there are any symptoms of pain in the upper abdomen, burning sensation after consumption of food , indigestion, or she is a diabetic then she would require further evaluation and surgery.
Size of the stone doesn’t really matter in determining the need for surgery, mainly based on the symptoms
