Folic acid is the synthetic form of vitamin 9 . When we take folic acid , it must be converted to L methyl folate through a series of steps to be utilised by the body .MTHFR is an enzyme which plays an important role in conversion of folic acid to L methyl folate. Individuals with mutations of the enzyme ( MTHFR) may not be able to convert folic acid to the active form L methyl tetrahydrofolate .. Folvite active contains the active form of folic acid which is L methyl tetrahydro folate , thus can be useful for individuals with mutation or polymorphism of the enzyme , MTHFR
