You have very correctly pointed out that floaters (bubbles) appearing suddenly are a sign of retinal detachment. But floaters can also be seen in numerous other conditions, one of the most common of which is dry eyes.
Here there are debris collecting on the surface of the eye due to inadequate flushing action of the tears. This condition is treated with tear substitutes, one of which is soft drops.
To help you further, the other important symptoms on retinal detachment are a painless sudden drop in vision, flashes of light, inability to see a part of the image/ field of view (denoting the opposite part of the detached retina).
Since it has already been close to a year there is no harm in revisiting your retina specialist.
