It appears to be a sub conjunctival haemorrhage. It will remain bright red till it gets absorbed. It can occur due to injury/bout of coughing, sneezing, retching etc. It may be associated with Diabetes/Hypertension as well. It gets absorbed in due course with supportive therapy only.
