Eosinophilia Eosinophilia is defined as a peripheral blood eosinophil count > 500/μL usually due to an allergic reaction or a parasitic infection or sometimes drug reaction. SX - ask about recent travel (suggesting possible parasite exposure), allergies, medication use PE - Rash (allergic, dermatologic, or vasculitic disorders), abnormal lung findings (asthma, lung infections, or syndromes of pulmonary infiltration with eosinophilia), and generalized lymphadenopathy or splenomegaly (myeloproliferative disorders or cancer).

DX - CBC, Stool Ova and Parasite, CXR

TX - Sometimes corticosteroids. Anti-parasitic medication. Drugs known to be associated with eosinophilia are stopped
