Epileptic seizure

I had a seizure, but MRI indicated no brain damage. EEG results showed abnormalities. I used to drink alcohol earlier and am abstaining from it currently. Doctor has prescribed to take levilex and mylin plus for years. Do I need to take the medication mandatorily? If so, why(as I had no brain damage)? Will the above medicines give me any long term side effects that I need to be worried of, such as kidney or liver problems?

HAI, AA EEG IS ABNORMAL ITIS EPILEPTIC SEIZURES, SO MANDATORY TO TAKE PRESCRIBED MEDICINE. WITH EACH ATTACK SOME AREAS OF BRAIN BECOMES LITHARGIC. MRI MAY NOT BE SHOWING. O.K, BYE.
