I have long-standing gastric pain. Normally when stomach is empty. Gastroenterologist asked me to take Cintapro 1mg twice daily and veloz 20  in morning. Does Cintapro help in gastric pain occuring when stomach is empty? Rather it's for emptying stomach quickly? Please explain as I'm also afraid Cintapro sometimes cause involuntary muscle movements. How long can one take it safely without leading to adverse side effects? Thanks in advance.

Hi Long standing gastric pain. First of all as you rightly said about cinitapride , it’s more of prokinetic drug. And Veloz is actual PPI , drug for acid burns.one of side effects of prolonged use of cinitapride is extra pyramidal , that is involuntary movements. Yes if you have those kindly report to treating physician. My worry is how well you have been evaluated for gastric pain like endoscopy, scans , blood tests ., to know exactly what’s going on ! Do sort out that
