Drug eluting stents dissolution

I had a emergency angioplasty last year with 1 drug eluted stent. Do this stent will dissolve in body.i have searched the internet a lot .some studies are going on this. just wanted to know about this from you .Do Such medicine are available or will be available in future to dissolve drug eluted stent in future.

Not all drug eluting stents are dissolving. Data on dissolving stents are still not clear and the rates of angioplasty with drug eluting stents have come down

Only a bio-absorbable stent will dissolve. Otherwise rest of the stents remain inside the body forever. You would ask your doctor which stent is used. Bio-absorbable stent are rarely used,and they are withdrawn from many countries including india due to some serious side effects of these. And you don't worry, drug eluting stent are good stents
