Drips to substitute zero food intake

My father has been diagnosed with esophagal cancer wherein a lump in his food pipe is blocking all food intake. It has gone to an extent where liquid intake is partially getting rebound. While we are on our heels for a treatment plan, I wanted to know if we can give him Drips to compensate for the starvation he is undergoing because of his illness. Today being sunday, we don't expect subject matter experts to be present at any hospital, so I wanted to ask

He needs a feeding jejunostomy, which is a an artificial catheter which is  directly attached into his intestines and the other end comes out of the abdominal wall through which feeding can be given, I.V drip is only a temporary solution, the feeding jejunostomy needs a 2 day admission. Can be done on the next day of consultation.
